NieR: Automata is headed to Xbox One soon: Report

by on May 5, 2018

Jeusvideo.com reports that NieR: Automata is currently in development for Xbox One.

There have been a few instances to point to the fact that an Xbox One port isn’t impossible. Given NieR: Automata’s success on PS4 in the West, an Xbox One port would not doubt justify the porting cost at least. Jeuxvideo reports that a source who wishes to remain anonymous has indicated that NieR: Automata is indeed heading to Xbox One soon.

NieR: Automata is fantastic and last generation, the original NieR was on both PS3 and Xbox 360 because that’s how most Japanese games were then. Now it is more of everything being on PS4 and or Switch with a PC port in some instances with Xbox One being left out. NieR: Automata would also benefit quite a bit from the Xbox One X. On the PS4 Pro, it runs at 1080p 60fps with a few drops while it is 900p on PS4. Don’t even get me started on the current state of the PC port that has received no patches from Square Enix despite being successul.

I’d believe that NieR: Automata is coming to Xbox One at some point and hope if it does materialize that it includes NieR as an Xbox 360 Backward Compatible game. More people need to play that.

NieR: Automata is currently available on PS4 and PC. Read our review of it here.

Thanks, jeuxvideo.
