Sega Confirms Daytona USA Will Be with Us Soon!

As you may have read earlier, we brought you an Achievement List that hinted towards Daytona USA being revamped and re-released very soon!

SEGA have now confirmed that Daytona USA is indeed going to arrive imminently. This 1993 DREAMCAST classic is also going to come with a host of new upgrades:

  • Fresh Oil and a New Coat of Paint: Experience the classic retro graphics of the original arcade hit in an enhanced,16:9 widescreen format
  • Let’s Go Away: Relive your glory days of racing to the sounds of the original Daytona USA soundtrack, also available in Karaoke Mode (admit it, you know you’ve been singing along anyway)
  • Pedal to the Metal: Drive like a pro with included support for the Logitech GT Driving Force steering wheel controller on PS3, and all Xbox 360-supported steering wheel controllers
  • Reach the Winner’s Circle: Challenge AI opponents in Arcade Mode, race the clock in Survival and Time Trial Modes, and trade paint with up to eight players in online multiplayer to place on the worldwide leaderboard

To get your Driving gloves on this title, you are going to need 800 Microsoft Points or $9.99 (£6.40ish UK) on the PlayStation Netowork.

Daytona USA will be available from October 26th for Xbox LIVE Arcade for both Europe and North America. PlayStation Network will see its arrival on October 25th in North America but late November in Europe.

I have been gaming since Christmas day 1989ish, when my siblings and I were given a NES. It had Super Mario Bros and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with it. Although I never completed TMNT, I did get past the underwater level by the dam!

I will happily give any genre a try, unless its something scary. I believe Luigi's Mansion was the closet thing to a horror game that I could stomach. I own a PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and a Nintendo DSi (Serious thought is going into the potential purchase of a 3DS).

When I am not gaming I am usually shouting at Arsenal to take a shot! I can also be found playing football, squash, ultimate frisbee, cooking, or passing the time by making noise. I can do a pretty convincing Jam Jar Lid! ^^
