Super Smash Bros. Confirmed for 3DS and Wii U, Adds Mega Man

We’ve known about Super Smash Bros. 4 for a while now but today we got our first trailer for both, confirming two new characters and a few clear changes.

The 3Ds game boasts a bold artstyle with characters clearly marked with thick black outlines. Levels appear to be handheld focused, with the likes of Phantom Hourglass and Nintendog levels being displayed.

The Wii U game is far more visually impressive, with the footage confirming many returning characters such as Mario, Link, Pikachu, Samus, Donkey Kong, Pit and Bowser. The footage also appears to confirm the return of the Smash Ball attacks from Smash Bros. Brawl.

Returning characters also boast changes, with Pit clearly using attacks inspired by his gameplay in Kid Icarus Uprising.

The trailer also confirmed an Animal Crossing character, using attacks such as digging characters into a hole and choping trees onto their heads, alongside the surprising reveal that Capcom’s Mega Man will be a playable fighter in the game.

The game’s official website has been launched here and contains plenty of Wii U and 3DS screenshots.
