Pokémon shipping figures reveal increasing popularity

by on October 26, 2016

NeoGAF user Sterok has collaborated Nintendo’s shipping figures for many of the DS and 3DS Pokémon titles, revealing that the series continues to grow in popularity.

The post explains that Pokémon X and Y recently reached 15.64 million copies shipped, surpassing Black and White’s 15.62 million while Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire have shipped 13.18 million copies, around half a million more than the Heart Gold and Soul Silver versions, which sit at 12.72 million. This shows an overall increase in the series’ popularity, for both new titles and remasters, and, interestingly, that remakes of old Pokémon games are considerably less popular than the new ones.
