HBO Now app released for Xbox One and 360

HBO and Microsoft have today launched a HBO Now app on both Xbox One and Xbox 360, marking its first appearance on a gaming platform.

HBO Now is a streaming service, currently only available in the United States. which allows users to access a range of HBO programs on-demand, for a monthly fee, without a cable or satellite subscription. With the season premieres of Game of Thrones, Veep and Silicon Valley coming this weekend, a free trial of the service can be claimed on the HBO Now website or those with a paid TV subscription will get a free preview of both HBO and Cinemax between April 22 and 25.

HBO have also announced that the first episode of Game of Thrones season 6 will be free to all Xbox users after it airs this sunday night, until April 28, with no subscription required to watch it.
