First L.A. Noire Trailer Unveiled

Rockstar Games have today unveiled the first proper trailer showing off the highly anticipated L.A. Noire. Set sometime in the 1940’s, the game will see players take on the role of a Los Angeles detective trying to solve various crimes throughout the city.

Going by the trailer, the game certainly looks very impressive. The development studio, Team Bondi, seem to have captured that gritty 1940’s atmosphere really well. However, that is not the most impressive thing about this trailer. Without any doubt whatsoever, the facial animations are the star of the show. The lip syncing, in particular, is absolutely amazing and this is all down to the fantastic motion capture technique used.

Rockstar Games and Team Bondi believe this technique will allow them to create that authentic detective experience. Just imagine being able to tell whether a character is lying or telling the truth by looking at subtle facial expressions. How cool would that be? Well, it could be possible in L.A. Noire.

L.A. Noire is due to be released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 sometime in Spring 2011.
