Beyond Good & Evil HD Gets PlayStation 3 Release Window

by on April 7, 2011

Beyond Good and EvilIn their latest PlayStation Network Store update – announced yesterday – Sony revealed that PlayStation Plus members would be receiving a 20% discount off the Beyond Good & Evil HD re-release. That announccement raised a few eyebrows though, as the game has only been released on Xbox 360 to date and there was no firm release window set for the PlayStation 3 version. However Ubisoft have now confirmed that the PS3 release of Beyond Good & Evil HD will happen in May, but still haven’t hammered out an exact date.

The HD makeover of the 2003 game from Michel Ancel was a featured title in the Xbox LIVE Arcade House Party promotion and Ubisoft are hoping that this new re-release will help the title garner the success it deserved – but never received – upon its initial launch. Critical acclaim and a cult fan following convinced the publisher to give the game another shot at sales success and so far the game has performed impressively on Xbox LIVE, at the bargain price of only 800 Microsoft Points. PS3 gamers don’t have long to wait now to join their fellow gamers exploring the land of Hillys with Jade and Pey’j.

Beyond Good & Evil HD is available for Xbox 360 now via Xbox LIVE Arcade. It will also be getting a PlayStation 3 release in May. Read our review where it earned a well-deserved 9/10.
