Most Anticipated Games According to Nielsen, But What Are Yours?Nielsen have conducted research throughout June to see which the most anticipated games of 2012 are. The results are in, and are interesting, but we want to hear your thoughts.

If you’re not aware of who Nielsen are, or what they do, well, they are a global marketing and research company based in Manhattan, with a massive amount of staff, based in over 100 countries.

Consumer data was derived from online interviews of 4,823 male and female active gamers (those who own at least one current generation console and actively play on and purchase games for that console), between the ages of 7 to 54.

First up, they asked people what their most anticipated Xbox 360 title was. No surprises here as Halo 4 took the crown easily. One thing of note however, is how highly anticipated Resident Evil 6 is, in both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 categories.

2012 Title for Xbox 360 Release Date Game Rank
Halo 4 11/6/2012  99%
Call of Duty: Black Ops II 11/13/2012  97%

Medal of Honor: Warfighter 10/23/2012  74%
NHL 13 9/11/2012  69%

Lots of multi-format titles here, with only Halo 4 and Fable: The Journey really representing first-party from Microsoft.

Sony fared slightly worse, which is to be expected as most of their first-party titles are slated for 2013; titles like Beyond, God of War: Ascension and The Last of Us.
