Nintendo Trademarks Suggest Seaman Return

by on July 17, 2013

Forget all of your Resident Evils and Silent Hills – the scariest game of all time is undoubtedly Seaman – the Dreamcast virtual pet that married Doctor Spock with crushing psychological horror that comes when you have to conduct relations with a fish that has a human face.

The 1999 original for Dreamcast was quite ahead of its time, and the idea was sound – it was just so unnerving and its sequel never made it to the West.

In news that is sure to excite sick minded individuals and just outright scare the bejaysus out of the rest of us, we learn today through Esuteru (via Polygon) that Nintendo of Japan have registered two worrying-sounding trademarks: Mysterious Pet: Legend of the Fish With A Human Face” and “Mysterious Partner: Legend of the Fish With A Human Face,” with strong rumours abound that there could be some possible upcoming new Seaman action for Nintendo 3DS.

Brrrrrrrr.
