7 Video Games That Were Recalled Or Altered After Being Released

A large number of video games have seen alterations once they were released. For one, you are more likely to play casino games than ask what’s borgata casino? However, not all of tge games you’ve played have been as lucky.

Some have also been recalled completely. The most popular examples are:

  1. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

The game, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas created a lot of stir when it hit the market. While all the games of the franchise are known for their use of violence, this particular game enraged the public because of a sexual mini-game that the makers incorporated in the original creation. Rockstar Games created a storyline which would allow the main character to develop sexual relations with his in-game girlfriend. However, they reviewed the matter and decided to remove it before the game hit the market. However, the PC version allowed users to enable the mini-game, and this sparked a major backlash. The game was recalled but has been brought back since then with a patch that removes the mini-game.

  1. Too Human

This game was supposed to release on the PlayStation back in 1999 but did not hit the market till 2008. Developed by Silicon Knights, the game is set in a futuristic Norse mythology world. The game was considered to be the first installment of an epic trilogy of games that would soon follow. Fans hoped that the sequel would come fast because of the ending. However, no sequels were ever made because of a huge court battle between Epic Games and Silicon Knights. The latter was forced to recall all copies of Too Human from the market.

  1. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

The Legend of Zelda has a huge fan following in the gaming community.  The history of the franchise has been peppered with some controversial moments, but it was The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time which really left a mark. A number of adjustments had to be made to the game because some people felt that it had instances of religious appropriation. Nintendo also released a few commercials which were deemed controversial by fans.

  1. Spider-Man 2: Enter Electro

This game is a follow-up title to the game, Spider-Man. It shows Peter Parker engaging in battle with Electro who has a plan to ruin more lives. The final battle sequence was supposed to happen atop the World Trade Center, and Electro would end up damaging the North Tower. However, this idea was scrapped after the September 11 attacks and the team decided on a generic building as the location.

  1. The Guy Game

This puzzle trivia title came with a variety of mini-games but created a lot of controversy because of its unconventional reward system. The prize for answering questions correctly was women taking their tops off. However, the reason why the title was pulled from the market was that one of the women in the game was later revealed to have been underage at the time of filming.

  1. Stadium Events

During the initial launch, Stadium Events was considered to be special because a copy will could run without any limit whatsoever. Nintendo rebranded the game that was originally created by Human Entertainment to produce this exceptional game.

  1. X-Men: Destiny

Silicon Knights was behind the release of X-Men: Destiny and the game received plenty of negative reviews. However, it was the court debacle between Epic Games and them that forced them to recall the game from the market.
