QuickSpin Release The Grand Slot Machine

QuickSpin, a leading Swedish slot specialist and part of the wider Playtech Group, have recently released their new The Grand slot machine. The latest in a string of developments from the company, The Grand aims to deliver an innovative and unique gameplay experience.

An Art Deco theme and design is combined with exciting modern features in the new game. That helps to evoke the glitz and glamour of casinos in the roaring 20s. It doesn’t, however, mean that The Grand lags behind other modern games. That is at least according to QuickSpin’s Chief Product Officer, Erik Gullstrand:

The Grand Features

The contemporary features which Gullstrand mentioned are numerous. The Grand, in fact, borrows and adapts lots of popular elements found in other QuickSpin titles.

There are six reels which operate on a 214 ways to win basis. Those ways to win result from the fact that the six reels exist in three pairs. One pair contains three symbols, the next has four and the final pair includes five.

Players can bet anywhere between 10p and £100 per spin when playing The Grand on any device. Whatever they wager, they’re looking to line up at least three matching symbols in a winning combination.

The symbols on the slot’s reels include representations of all four traditional playing card suits. Those are hearts, spades, diamonds and clubs, and help to add to a player’s feeling of being in a classy, retro casino.

It’s the purple and green gemstone symbols which are the slot’s most valuable, however. Six of the green gemstones aligned in a winning combination is the ideal. It will pay out at a rate of eight times the player’s stake.

The winning potential of The Grand is then enhanced significantly by a raft of additional gameplay features. Those features comprise three random base game features, a free spins feature and the so-called ‘GRANDomizer’ feature.

The Grand offers a 96.58% payout percentage (RTP) which doesn’t put it at the very top of the best Quickspin slots but it’s comfortably in the top 20.

Base Game Features

The Grand has three base game features. These features can be randomly applied after any individual spin. In the base game itself, only one feature can occur at any one time. They cannot be combined.

• Synced Reels – Anywhere from two to all six reels can become synced to provide significantly enhanced wins.

• Random Wilds – Between four and eight random wilds are added to the reels. Those wilds substitute for all other symbols – except free spin or bonus symbols – to create more winning combinations.

• Nudge Reels – Either one, two or three reels are nudged one position up or down to give better winning combinations.

Free Spins & GRANDomizer

The free spins symbol is one of two special symbols on The Grand’s reels. Three or more of them appearing after a spin results in free spins for the player. Three symbols deliver six free spins, four trigger nine, five result in 12 and six will unlock a total of 15.

Those free spins obviously provide the benefit of possible winning combinations without the need for making further wagers. What’s more notable, however, is that during free spins two or even all three of The Grand’s base game features can happen at once. This is the only time in the slot that this can happen.

The other special symbol on The Grand’s reels is the bonus symbol. If three of those appear anywhere on the reels after a spin, it triggers the bonus GRANDomizer feature. That feature unlocks one of the base game features for one, two or three extra spins.
