It's difficult to score Of Orcs and Men, because the ambition is there and is something that should be applauded, but the execution lets down both Cyanide and Spiders. Unfortunately, a decent story, passable aesthetics and a handful of cool ideas are muddied by some of the laziest AI of this generation, uncomfortable, unnecessary "tactical" combat and horrific lip-syncing.
Focus Home Interactive have released the launch trailer for Spider's fantasy action adventure Of Orcs and Men, due for release on October 12th.
Cyanide Studios' brutal hack and slash fantasy, Of Orcs and Men, is unlikely to be remembered for its subtlety. Casting you as hulking Orc warrior Arkail and sneaky Goblin Styx, the game draws comic relief from their constant sniping to off-set the dark, violent themes of the narrative.
The two leads are designed to work in tandem, as Arkail employs brute strength and Styx uses stealth abilities and dark magic to acchieve his ends. Separate skill trees will give you control over their progression throughout the game.
Cyanide Studios and Spiders have released new screenshots today for their upcoming RPG, Of Orcs And Men. A joint venture between the two companies the game certainly seems to be one of the most ambitious titles either side has produced to date.
Work on Of Orcs and Men has greatly advanced since the unveiling of the title.
