Rocksteady Games have announced the exciting news that Catwoman will be a playable character throughout certain sections of the main story mode in their new game, Batman: Arkham City. Gamespot have hosted a new interview video with the develoeprs, where it is revealed that several missions in the game will see players stepping into the shoes of burglar extraordinaire Selina Kyle in a side story that makes the most of her ample pilfering skills. In contrast to Batman’s Detective mode, we have thief vision for the famous cat burglar, who will also employ a whip to get from place to place.

Watch the trailer below to see the developers explain how Catwoman missions amount to around ten percent of overall gameplay, but also that gamers will be able to play as Catwoman during city exploration segments, where she will be able to use her unique skills to do things that Batman cannot.

Batman: Arkham City will be released on October 18th in North America and October 21st in Europe for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
