Saturo Iwata honoured at GDC with touching animated tribute
The late President and CEO of Nintendo Saturo Iwata was honoured at Game Developers Conference yesterday, as a touching animated tribute was premiered highlighting his contributions to the video game industry over the years.
The video, created by Braid artist David Hellman, shows Iwata’s pioneering of the Nintendo DS and Wii U and how both consoles managed to span the generations and create a massive user base of all ages. The video ends with a quote by Iwata fro his GDC 2005 speech that reads: “…in my heart, I am a gamer.”
Iwata passed away last year at the age of 55.
