Leona Lewis, from X-Factor to Final Fantasy XIII. I never thought I would say that!

As we reported yesterday, Square-Enix were due to make a “special” announcement regarding Final Fantasy XIII today and a few hours ago they did just that. The announcement was the US and European release date of the high sort after Japanese RPG, the game will hit store shelves on 9th March 2010. The Japanese version of the game is due to be released next month (December 17th) so once again us western gamers will have to wait patiently for a quality Japanese RPG (Tales of Symphonia anyone?!) to come to our shores.

To “sooth” the pain of the three month wait Square-Enix also revealed that the US and European versions of the game will have a theme song which will be sung by former X-Factor winner Leona Lewis! The song is called My Hands and it is taken form her upcoming album which is titled Echo. Excited?! I know, so am I! I just stopped jumping up and down to write this article. Sarcasm aside, fans of Japanese RPGs are very “particular” when it comes to the style/design of “their” games so I can’t see this going down too well with the hardcore fans. Anyway check out the rather epic announcement trailer below and, as always, let us know what you guys think.
