Xbox.com Website Gets An Overhaul

by on October 20, 2010

Microsoft avatars have come to your home computer!

The official Xbox website has just been updated and has come back online with some interesting new features. The homepage for all things Xbox has been adjusted so that it can incorporate the nine additional countries which have been added to their gaming map.

Some of the exciting, and not-so-exciting new additions are:

  • Browser based Avatar editor: Edit your avatar and preview avatar items before purchase
  • Combined views for messages, friend and game requests
  • Improved notification of your account subscription
  • Leverage Family Reports to understand what your family is doing and how they are using Live
  • Play web games with your Xbox Live friends on the web or on Windows Phone 7
  • Marketplace: More powerful search and more intuitive ways to browse and filter

This is also accompanied by some minor visual tweaks to tie the site in with the new Kinect-style colour scheme.

The update was completed this morning and the new features are now up and running. So get to the avatar editor and try on some new clothes!
