Batman: Arkham City Pre-Order Skins Will Also Be Available As Paid DLC

by on August 5, 2011

For those Batman fans and gamers who were worried that they might miss out on some of the retailer-exclusive pre-order bonuses, the development team at Rocksteady have confirmed that they plan to make all of the alternate character skins available as paid marketplace DLC, somewhere further down the line. Earlier this week, the team released images of some of the alternate skins and announced which retailers would hold early exclusivity on each. These range from the aged and overweight Batman seen in the graphic novel The Dark Knight Returns, to the stylised hero from Batman: The Animated Series.

Marketing Manager at Rocksteady, Dax Ginn stated that; “The offer that we’re making out with retailers for gamers is, this is an early access opportunity for you… Absolutely down the track [the skins] will be available more broadly.” So it is expected that after each retailer has enjoyed an exclusivity period for their respective skins, they will be priced and put up for download Xbox LIVE, the PlayStation Network and on PC.

The skins that have been allocated to retailers so far are as follows:
