Game of Thrones DLC Takes You Beyond the Wall

Game of Thrones DLC Takes You Beyond the WallDespite receiving more than its fair share of honest criticism on release, Cyanide’s Game of Thrones adaptation does have its plus points. While it may be weak in the combat and aesthetics, it manages to weave a confident, compelling story around its two protagonists, Night’s Watch brother Mors Westford and Red Priest Alester Sarwyck.

In a tale running parallel to the first novel in George R. R. Martin’s groundbreaking fantasy saga, A Song of Ice and Fire, Game of Thrones follows the misfortunes of these two men through familiar settings and alongside characters from NBC’s award-winning TV show. It’s fair to say that, despite being canonised by Martin himself, it didn’t wow critics the way Cyanide hoped it would – though it did manage to secure a loyal fan-base.

It is for those fans in particular that Cyanide are releasing the Beyond the Wall DLC, a two hour mini questline following Mors as a young man long before the events of the main game. In it you’ll learn why he swore his life and sword to the Night’s Watch by taking the black, how he earned the nickname The Butcher and what he stuck his face in to earn those nasty scars of his.

There’s no solid release date yet, but Cyanide have confirmed that it will cost 400 MS Points or £4.99 on PSN and Steam. Check out the six new screenshots below for a glimpse of what to expect.
