Original Ending For The Last of Us Revealed
Naughty Dog creative director Neil Druckmann has revealed an alternative ending for The Last of Us that was once in the works.
Recalling it during a Reddit AMA (warning: spoilers lurk in that link) he said: “We had a happier ending at one point where Ellie & Joel were driving completely contented & satisfied with their adventures off into a glorious sunset… but that didn’t feel right.
“It just wasn’t honest to the world or the characters we created.” He added that he thought the ending they went with “felt right for us”.
At the end of the chat Druckmann and the game’s director Bruce Straley said that news regarding downloadable content would be coming “soon-ish” and that they and Naughty Dog would be at PAX later this month.
