Dead Rising 3 Gets a 13GB Update

by on January 20, 2014

I am yet to play Dead Rising 3; I intended to start it later this week after I finish Lego Marvel Super Heroes, but now it looks like that will have to be delayed as a massive 13GB update was released over the weekend. With my Internet speed the update will take at least 15 hours, if not more.

The update brings a lot of changes and presumably contains some if not all of the Operation Broken Eagle DLC that is set to launch tomorrow. The official patch information states that there are numerous stability and performance upgrades for single player and co-op as well as a new impulse trigger feature that notifies you when your ammo is low. You can check out the full patch notes here.

The update comes mere hours before the launch of the Operation Broken Eagle DLC, something that is sure to irritate those hoping to jump into the DLC tomorrow. The DLC will be available for £7.99, and includes a whole load of new content such as a new mission, new weapons, a new vehicle and more of that all important gamer score.

Along with the news of the DLC Microsoft also revealed that gamers have killed more than 16 billion zombies and clocked in over 14 million hours of gameplay in Dead Rising 3 since it launched in November.

Will you be downloading the 13GB update? Or perhaps more interestingly will it take any of you longer to download than me? Feel free to moan about your poor Internet speeds below (or if you want to be really mean you can brag about all your fancy fiber optic connections).
