Bolvërk Games have today announced Kittypocalypse, their upcoming tower defence game which will be available for VR platforms following their retail launches. A playable demo for Oculus Rift was also announced.

The premise is that evil alien beings have successfully taken over your planet by dressing up as cute kittens – and they’ve taken over all that you know and love. Recovery vessels have been sent to salvage what’s left but the alien kitties are hot in pursuit. Kittypocalypse will come with 20 playable environments, varying from dense forests to arid deserts. Players will be tasked with thinking on their feet as they try to combat the unpredictable and never end flow of adorableness.

“Kittypocalypse is a deep, rewarding strategic defense game,” said creative director Bo Bennekov, of Danish studio Bolvërk Games. “It’s easy to learn, but will be devilishly hard to master. With Kittypocalypse you can soar high above the action, or immerse yourself eye to eye with the hordes of marauding kittens, seeing your weapons work and missiles flinging the kittens above your head.”

You can find the announcement trailer above, and download the playable demo here. Kittypocalypse will be available on Oculus Rift this spring, and will come to PSVR and HTC Vive following their respective launches.
