To add to the news we posted earlier today about the PlayStation Move, we now bring you the official trailer. The trailer (which can be seen below) shows off Sony’s new motion controller aswell explaining to us how it will add a “new dimension” to PS3 gaming.

Ah and while we’re here, we would also like to state that in addition to the PlayStation Move Sony also unveiled the “PlayStation Move sub-controller”. Yes, you are correct. It is basically their version of the Wii’s Nunchuck.

Sony Motion Controller Called PlayStation Move

Post by Asim Tanvir

After weeks of guessing and rumour, Sony have finally put an official name to their motion controller at GDC earlier today. As you can tell by the title of this post, it is to be called the PlayStation Move. During their GDC conference they showed of some games that will be using this new controller as well as vaguely announcing a price point for North America. They stated that a bundle with PlayStation Move, PlayStation Eye and a game will be available for under $100. We’re guessing that means $99.99 then?!

As mentioned earlier, Sony did show off some games that will be using the PlayStation Move and although they were mostly “casual” games such as painting and fly swatting, we also got to see the Move being used in more “hardcore” titles like SOCOM 4 and LittleBigPlanet. The latter in particular looked like alot of fun and a really good use of the new controller.

It’s early days at the moment but it does look like Sony have put some thought into this little project of theirs, even if the controller itself does look rather strange. Going by what we saw at the conference the controller looks like it handles quite well and, more importantly, it seems very precise. Cynics will point out this is Sony’s way of grabbing a slice of that “casual” pie and while that is probably true, at the end of the day we can only judge the PlayStation Move on its merits and, hey, it looks pretty decent. Oh and am I the only one that couldn’t stop thinking “Wii HD” throughout the conference?! ;)

Dante’s Inferno Review

Game: Dante’s Inferno

Developer: Visceral Games

Publisher: Electronic Arts

Available on: Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 (reviewed on Xbox 360)

Dante’s Inferno, widely named the God of War clone, perhaps starts a little on the back foot with some members of the gaming community dismissing the game before they have even given it a fair shake. I first played Dante’s at the Eurogamer Expo 2009, just after I had played the awesome God of War III demo. To say the games were similar would be a huge understatement! I remember thinking at the time if I had been told Dante’s Inferno was a special level in God of War III and that you had been fighting as a different character, I would have wholeheartedly believed it. The controls, the enemies and game mechanics seemed identical at the time. However that whole experience was based on a couple of short sections taken from game, it would be slightly unfair to judge Dante’s Inferno based just on them. Well, now the full game is here and, with it, a chance to give a more informed verdict. Does it rise proudly from the depths of hell or is it just damned forever? Read on for the full review.

Ubisoft Announces Pure Football

As the titles suggests, Ubisoft have officially thrown their hat into the “next-gen” virtual football arena in the form of a new game called Pure Football. Rather than directly take on the might of FIFA or Pro Evolution Soccer they have chosen to go down a slightly different route and base Pure Football around the 5-a-side version of the beautiful game.

Pure Football will include 230 footballers (including 17 legends) and 17 international teams. Players will be able to create their own customized athlete who can progress through the campaign mode to test themselves against the world’s best. The game will also support local and online multiplayer, 4 vs 4 for the former and 1 vs 1 for the latter. At the moment Pure Football is slated in for a May 2010 release date for the Xbox 360 and PS3. Oh and Steven Gerrard will be the “cover star”.

A quick look at the launch trailer (which can be seen below) and it would appear that Ubisoft have taken some inspiration from the likes of FIFA Street and SEGA Soccer Slam, especially in terms of the art style. Let’s just hope it turns out to be a decent 5-a-side football game, something to compliment the likes of FIFA and Pro Evolution Soccer.

Bungie have today released a brand spanking new trailer showing off the multiplayer mode that will feature in Halo Reach and, well, it looks rather fantastic. New additions include weapon loadouts, one stab kills and jet packs! Yes, you read that correctly folks. You will be able to fly around maps and take out human opponents across the world as you please. The trailer also briefly shows off new modes called invasion, headhunter and Spartans vs. Elites. The latter mode in particularly has us intrigued and we wonder if that is the way all the team games will be set-up in Halo Reach, kind of like Gears of War. It certainly would be pretty cool!

Check out the trailer below and, as usual, let us know what you guys think. Oh and remember, the Halo Reach multiplayer beta kicks off on May 3rd 2010!

Sex Mini-Game Almost Cut From God of War III

Three games in and it appears the guys over at Santa Monica Studios seem to have developed some sort of a conscience as God of War III director Stig Asmussen told UGO in a recent interview that those oh so pointless but much loved hidden sex mini-games that have become a staple for the series almost faced deletion (le gasp!!). These mini-games as anyone who has played the series before will tell you generally consist of you mashing on a few buttons in sequence while Kratos shows a few topless maidens how manly he truly is. CryEngine 3 Jumps on the 3D bandwagon

It’s no secret that Crytek have been steadily releasing demo’s of their CryENGINE 3 over the past year or so in an attempt to pimp out this spectacular engine to games developers and the gaming masses alike. We at Godisageek have most definitely been impressed with what we have witnessed and are looking forward to the plethora of entertaining games that will undoubtedly be developed using the engine. However yesterday in an attempt to further future proof the engine ( As if it needed it. The last engine these guys gave us still represents the best that PC gaming has to offer) Crytek announced that they will also be integrating stereoscopic 3D into CryENGINE3. Coupled with the outrageous amounts of features the engine will already bring to cross platform game development the addition of 3D is the icing on the cake so to speak and can only further sweeten the deal with developers and nay sayers(Watch out Epic Games).

The first demo footage of the feature will be available at this years Game Developers Conference later this month so keep your eyes peeled.
