Bungie Weekly Update Promises Crucible Improvements for Destiny

by on October 27, 2014

Seven weeks after the launch of Destiny, people are still trying to figure out what its all about. Is it an MMO? A story driven shooter? A PvP centric powerhouse? Who knows, what we do know however is that Bungie is keen on updating its unknown entity on a regular basis – and today they have details a couple of items we can expect to see in the next update, titled Iron Banner.

Here is a quote from lead designer on Destiny Tyson Green;

Over the last few weeks, the Tower played host to two events, and we learned a lot from both of them. Queen’s Wrath will be going back into the oven for a while. With Iron Banner, we have been able to move forward quickly with a lot of your feedback. We’d like to give you a look ahead at the next Iron Banner event.

The next update will aim to make PvP level advantages fairer, at least for the player who has put the most effort into playing the game. A Fireteam leader will now need to Level 20 to enter. While lower Level players may join in with their Level 20+ friend, they will find it more challenging.

In an effort to stop players from being sore losers and quitting when it looks like they can’t win, Bungie are adding in an Iron medallion for a loss that can be converted into almost as much reputation as a win next time they…win. A number of other play incentives are being prepared for the next update, designed to keep you playing while all around you are switching to something new – you can read the full rundown for yourselves, here.
