Modern Warfare 2 Patch 1.02 Released

by on November 11, 2009

A new patch for Modern Warfare 2 is now available to download, addressing the trophy bug we wrote about earlier this week. The v1.02 patch, however, does not address other issues in the game, such as problems in inviting friends to join in a multiplayer game via the Party System. A new patch will be released this Friday to address some of the other issues in the game.

But to be honest, simple problems like this should have been discovered and fixed before the game was released. It’s unacceptable that a game of this value has such trivial problems. At least Infinity Ward released a patch fairly quickly or there would have been a lot of unhappy gamers.

Infinity Ward DOES have alot of unhappy customers. This is bogus. A company like IW should know better than to drop second rate slop like this onto the public. What?!? They couldnt AFFORD to host a public beta to get these bugs found and worked out prior to taking our CA$H??? Seriously, this game launch ranks right up there with the worst of the worst and even makes developers like Slant Six (Socom:Confrontation) look good.

Every employee at IW who worked on this game should be drug out into the street and run over multiple times with shopping carts full of this waste of time cant cut it not working game.

They had an extensive testing process which went on for months, I imagine the multiplayer issues are largely due to the huge numbers of players logging in on the release day, i think mw2 will certainly be setting some records in that department. I'm sure IW has a team in Redmond this week to deal w/ just these kind of xbox live issues.

But I agree, by all means, severe physical violence should be delt unto those who are at all involved in a minor inconvenience in your access to entertainment.

(PS3) I was working great last night. I downloaded the patch this afternoon and now I cannot get past the part where it says Connecting to match making server. Sounds like this may be happening to a lot of people. Anyone else experiencing this?

Wow. I haven't had a single problem getting a multiplayer match, even with parties of people up to 8.

You guys must have bad connections.

There IS a lot of unhappy gamers, this is a top release, and i think to myself, did they not test a simple thing like “invite friend” !?, i can not understand why this and the trophy system was over looked, for people like me, this is there hobby, like football to others or what ever you like. If you went to see a match and half the team were not there, you would want your money back or some compensation, come on Infinity ward chuck some maps out, we know you got some, or even a statement, not some “twitter” comments, its not good enough, im sure some people saved up for quite some time for this and were let down badly, sort it out please.

RT @fourzerotwo: Can someone go wake up the Sony Japanese team and tell them to turn on the Presence server? Only thing preventing invites for #MW2 PS3

Very unhappy that they are using Steam. Can not create a server which totally sucks. Please fix this or do not come out with MW3.
