Assassin’s Creed Animus Project Update 2.0 free DLC out now

by on January 19, 2011

Sneaking onto Xbox LIVE and the PlayStationNetwork is the second batch of free DLC for Assassins’ Creed: Brotherhood – the Animus Project 2.0 multiplayer update. This update will add another new multiplayer mode, entitled Chest Capture and a new map “Pienza”. Pienza is designed for free-running, with a map chocked full of high and low points and a variety of architecture such as narrow alleyways and multi-story buildings, perfect for sneaking and pouncing. It will also feature wide-open plaza areas, where blending and stalking will come into play.

In the new Chest Capture Mode, it will pit two teams of three players against each other, with one playing as Hunters and the other as Protectors. Hunters are tasked with trying to steal the contents of chests which are placed througout the city, and protectors try to stop them at all costs. Also included in the update is a Templar Score feature, which is yet to be detailed fully, but seems to be a ranking system. Perhaps the next update will feature some new single-player additions? But it seems for now Ubisoft are keen to focus on making the new multiplayer aspect a more rewarding and interesting experience.

The Animus Project 2.0 DLC will be free to download and is available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 now.
