Super Monkey Ball 3D Detailed

by on January 19, 2011

Who doesn’t love a bit of Super Monkey Ball? Sega have today announced details of the Nintendo 3DS version of the game, due out early 2011.

Taken straight from the SEGA Europe Blog : “Grab a banana and get ready to roll in the next instalment of the Super Monkey Ball franchise, exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS – they’re practically leaping out of the screen with excitement.”

“All your favourites like AiAi, Baby, MeeMee and GonGon (we likes us some GonGon here at SOE HQ, there’s a glass divider of him in our office) return along with a character who will cause AiAi no end of bother in traditional Monkey Ball gaming, using either the Nintendo 3DS Slide Pad or the motion sensor for absolute precision control on those tight ledges.

Monkey Ball would not be Monkey Ball without the multiplayer aspect and you can be sure SMB 3D has this covered too.

If you left a hundred monkeys in front of a hundred typewriters for a hundred years eventually you’d manage to get a Shakespearean sonnet apparently. That’s all well and good but we much prefer getting four monkeys, putting boxing gloves on them and the letting them beat the bananas out of each other in Monkey Fight, an all-out 4-player battle royale via Wi-Fi.

It just seems more fun somehow…

Incidentally we at SEGA also support the highly successful Academy of Mammals Into Greater Orchestration music program. Which you can find out about here.

Take to the track in crazy multiplayer race action and go head-to-head in a battle to the finish line, will you finish top of the tree or simply fall out of contention.”
