Killer New Zelda Game Boosts 3DS Sales

by on June 22, 2011

As you may have now realised, there is a cracking remake of classic Nintendo 64 action RPG The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time on the shelves, and it is apparent that the release of this superb title has boosted sales of the stereoscopic 3D wonder-handheld.

Media Create’s sales chart covering June 13 through June 19 has Level-5’s long awaited PSP title Little Battle Experience in top with 166,187 units, just ahead of Zelda’s 164,110 units. Enterbrain’s chart for the same period, provided at Famitsu.com without sales figures, has the positions reversed.

3DS benefitted more from the major release, as hardware sales surged from last week’s 24,649 units to 40,649 units. PSP saw a modest hardware boost from 26,681 units to 31,741 units.
