Stronghold 3: Economic Trailer

If you were under the assumption that the PC RTS was slowly spiralling into extinction then Firefly Studios are here to prove you wrong. In a world filled with console first person shooters and action games (not to mention StarCraft II) the development studio are trying to wedge their Medieval RTS into the market while expanding upon but staying true to the first two games.

Firefly Studios have released a new trailer showing that there is more to Stronghold 3 then torturing the innocent and fending of the enemy with medieval artillery.

“We wanted to show that there are two sides to Stronghold 3,” said lead designer Simon Bradbury, Firefly Studios. “To create a mighty army, you also need a fully functioning village, which means growing crops, nurturing animals, holding church services and even giving your villagers a few pints of ale. The Economic Campaign really highlights the simulation aspect of the game, as players are tasked with restoring the abbey to its former glory and repairing lands that have been ravaged by The Wolf’s army.”
