Gioteck Peripheral Roundup

Gioteck Peripheral RoundupIt would be fair to stay that Gioteck are a bit of a newcomer to the peripheral market, covering all sorts of devices on multiple platforms, so we thought we’d take a look at some of what they have to offer and let you know what the score is.

Whether you’re looking for a headset that doesn’t take the attention away from the awesome surround sound setup you’ve got, or simply looking for a quick and easy place to store and charge your extra controllers so that if the unthinkable happens and the controller you’re playing with runs out of juice, you don’t have to stop playing. Simply pick up a fully charged secondary controller and carry on with the game. Whatever you need you can almost guarantee that Gioteck has you covered in one way or another. Here are just a few of the product that they have on offer.

Gioteck EX-03 Headset

EX03 HeadsetWe’ve reviewed a whole range of console headsets at GodisaGeek recently, but here’s something a little different. Gioteck’s EX-03 is designed for those gamers who already have their surround-sound setup and are not looking for an over-the-ear headset solo experience. The EX-03 is a lightweight, single-ear voice-chat headset, that won’t interfere with your TV’s speaker system.

Having a noise cancelling mic is a nice touch, and it’s something you don’t often see on lower-range headsets. Also, the in-line ergonomic controls mean at the flip of a switch, you’re safe to cough, sing, or yell at the kids to your heart’s content.

It’s the little touches that make this headset stand out, from the twist-free wires, to the flexible mic and ear-hooks. Not to mention the very appealing military urban-camouflage design.

For under a tenner at Amazon, you really can’t go wrong.

Gioteck Real Triggers for PS3

Real-Triggers

When the PlayStation 3 launched, one of the (almost) universal complaints was that the L2 and R2 triggers didn’t feel right, especially for First Person Shooters or Racing games, which required more than just pushing the triggers down; some finesse if you will. Although they’ve been around in some form for a while now, these Real Triggers for PS3 solve any issues with the triggers immediately, cheaply and easily.

It couldn’t be more simple, a small box with two new triggers inside which literally clip onto the existing triggers on the DualShock3 or Sixaxis. No fuss, no problem. If you haven’t already grabbed these, yet find the L2 and R2 triggers a little awkward on the PlayStation 3, it’s a no brainer.

Gioteck AC-1 Ammoclip

AC-1With the AC-1, we have something that is a little bit different. The AC-1 Ammoclip is basically a charging dock for PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 controllers. It can charge two controllers at a time and is encased in what amounts to a DVD case. When you open the case up, the two controller holsters reveal themselves and all you have to do is plug the AC adapter in and you have a mobile controller charger.

On the side of the AC-1 there are LED’s, which change from red to green indicating whether the device is charged or not. The issue with the AC-1 really, is whether of not you actually need it. If you have lots of PlayStation 3 controllers (multiple DualShocks, move wands, navi’s etc) then it’s a nice way to ensure you always have them charged up for a gaming session. Whether you have the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 version, the idea is that you can always have a couple of spare controllers of charge, while using another. When you’re done charging, the unit simply folds up and packs away along with your games and dvds.

Retailing at around the £20 mark, it’s not really a luxury item, but it sits around the price you’d expect to pay for something similar elsewhere. If you have the inclination to have your controllers constantly charged and want a device that looks seriously cool while it does it, then the AC-1 is the device for you.

Gioteck DF-1 DualFuel Ammo Box Charger

Gioteck - DF1

Much like the AC-1, the Gioteck DF-1 is designed to be a combat charging unit. The primary difference here, however, is that you can pack away your controllers inside the DualFuel Ammo Box itself. When not in use, the DF-1 can be used as a carry-case for your Xbox 360 controllers, and whether in-use or not, it’s a very fancy storage unit.

Of course, carrying and storage isn’t the main purpose of this device. The full metal, military style Ammo Box has the capability of charging two controllers at once, without any cables or plug-in adapters. The box is accompanied by two specially designed battery packs, which allow for a contact-less charge. Simply placing your Xbox 360 controllers into the case sets them on charge, with LED status.

Get rid of your clutter in style, with the DF-1 DualFuel Ammo Charger, for under thirty pounds from Amazon.
