Sony-Our-strategy-for-Christmas-is-to-go-big-on-family-friendly-titlesSony has a strong reputation when it comes to releasing top quality “core” games, this Christmas they plan to shift focus to more family friendly titles.

Speaking with Game Informer, via Gaming Everything, Sony Worldwide Studios president, Shuhei Yoshida said:

Our strategy for Christmas is to go big on family-friendly titles. This is a neglected genre for the PlayStation 3, but as it matures, I think it’s really important to have these games on the platform. I think we have a great lineup this holiday to complement third parties’ big core games.

Don’t get the word “family” mixed up with “casual”, games like Little Big Planet Karting and PlayStation All-Stars are likely to appeal to gamers of all ages.

Sure Wonderbook is unlikely to excite the over 10’s but there’s always 2013, with The Last of Us and God of War: Ascension already confirmed to drop in the new year.
