Earlier today, we informed you that SquEnix were gearing up to give everyone their first look at Deus Ex: Human Defiance, the next game in the Deus Ex series. Obviously, we had to take that with a grain of salt because of the date and we were right to do so.

If you head on over to the Human Defiance site, you’ll be greeted with a video of Adam Jensen’s next whirlwind adventure, which just so happens to be 8-bit.

The description for the game is actually quite humourous and the accompanying video is fairly well done, but the timing of this is silly. With the publisher’s president recently stepping down and Tomb Raider’s sales considered unsatisfactory, a fake Deus Ex announcement couldn’t come at a worse time.

There are plenty of people that would lap up a real sequel to the fantastic Human Revolution and hopefully that will come soon. Deus Ex: The Fall is yet to be explained, so fingers crossed that we will get something REAL, very soon.
