At PAX Australia, Gearbox Software announced that it is planning on releasing HD versions of Homeworld and Homeworld 2 on PC – as reported by Polygon.

Back in April, the developer bought the IP for $1.35 million as the remainder of THQ’s games were up for grabs.

The original games were developed by Company of Heroes studio Relic Entertainment and came to Windows PC in 1999 and 2003, respectively. This time ‘round, these revamped editions of the series will be making their way to digital distribution platforms.
