Skyrim May Be Coming To Xbox One And PlayStation 4 (Update: Or not, sadly)

by on January 9, 2014

Rumours are abound that a next-generation version of Skyrim is in the works for release on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles. This began with a teaser email that has been sent out by Bethesda – promising a special announcement – and was later reinforced when Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions were listed on the official website for the game.

This game listing was spotted by Onlysp.com, and has since been removed, but this lends credence to the idea that the forthcoming special announcement, due on January 12 2014, would be a re-working of Skyrim for the new consoles. It would be somewhat surprising that the title would get a new version, but Skyrim remains incredibly popular and would most likely sell well once again. With only three days to wait until the 12th, we will find out soon anyway!

UPDATE: Apparently Bethesda have said it was a “website error”, we’ve learned from Eurogamer.
