Assassin’s Creed Odyssey: Daughters of Artemis Questline – all locations and rewards

by on October 8, 2018

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is an enormous, but excellent game, and in the Northern part of Phokis, right underneath the Temple of Artemis (click here to see a map of this location) synchronise point you will find Daphnae, one of the Daughters of Artemis. Speak with her and she will give you an expansive quest that will see you travelling all over the lands of Ancient Greece to hunt down and retrieve the skins of eight mythical creatures. With each successful kill she will reward you with a powerful legendary piece of equipment imbued with the skills of Artemis.

This is a lengthy quest, with hard to find beasts and locations, so here’s your handy guide on how to find and slay them.

Kalydonian Boar

Suggested Character level: 13

Reward: Artemis’s Bow (+20% Damage with Predator Shot ability)

Location: Phokis, west of the Temple of Artemis wandering the Sacred Lands of Apollo

Daughters of Artemis Questline – Kalydonian Boar

Kalydonian Boar map location

The boar is quick, and can do a lot of damage very quickly thanks to to an almost constant charge it carries out. The best strategy is to remain circling around it constantly getting strikes in around the flanks and rear.

When the boar is about 25-30% damaged it will run away from you for a short while and a stampede of roughly 4-5 smaller boars will charge at you from behind. If you are not careful they will knock you to your feet and cause quite a bit of damage. The smaller boars shouldn’t cause you too much trouble to dispatch, but we recommend you do so before tackling the larger one again as they will continue to attack you from behind.

Once you have taken care of the smaller boars you can return to the Kalydonian with the same strategy as before. Depending on your level when you tackle this creature, you may get another two waves of the smaller boars, but as before they are signposted by the larger one running away from your attacks.

Once the creature is dead, return to Daphnae at the Temple of Artemis with the pelt and she will reward you with Artemis’s Bow which has a specialist ability of +20% damage when utilising the Predator Shot ability. After a short conversation she will tell you of the remaining creatures for you to hunt down.

The Hind of Keryneia

Suggested Character level: 16

Reward: Drachmae

Location: Eboea, around what looks like a body of water in the middle of Artemision Point.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey The Hind of Keryneia map location

The Hind of Keryneia map location

The Hind is surrounded by other deer, however unlike the Boar these will not take part in the fight.

The Hind is another powerful beast that will charge you head on and do huge damage if you are not careful. You will want to keep circling around and getting hits in when you can. After you have done a certain amount of damage, the deer will start to charge you with its antlers down, dodge successfully and she will lodge herself momentarily in the ground by her antlers allowing you to get some free, uninterrupted hits on her. Continue with this strategy of circling around her and waiting for her to charge and lodge herself.

The Nemean Lion

Suggested Character level: 22

Reward: Pandora’s Kopis (+15% damage to animals, buffs to the Tamed Beasts ability)

Location: Argolis, in the northern part of the Sinkholes of Herakles.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey: The Nemean Lion location

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey: The Nemean Lion location

The Lion is contained within an area surrounded by steep cliffs. As well as your target the location contains a number of other lions that you will want to take out before engaging the beast. You can do this from range by firing arrows and taking them out one by one. Once the area is cleared you can jump into the arena and begin the fight with the lion.

Fighting is fairly straight-forward but beware of the speed of the attacks. Try to draw your foe into the middle of the arena rather than around the sides as there are sections that count as you leaving the combat area. If this happens the Lion recovers some health and it makes the fight much longer and more difficult than it needs to be.

As with the previous fights, avoid trying to tackle the beast head on as it has a powerful swipe of its front paws. Keep circling and try to time your doges so that you trigger the slow down of play and can get some free hits in.

The Kretan Bull

Suggested Character level: 33

Reward: Master Artemis Outfit (+15% Hunter damage, +10% bow charging speed)

Location: Messara in the western part of the Fertile Battlegrounds

Assassin's Creed Odyssey: The Kretan Bull location

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey: The Kretan Bull location

The Bull is on its own wandering some marshland in the far western part of the Fertile Battlegrounds. It will damage you from the front with its huge horns, and also from behind with a hind kick so you will need to concentrate your attacks on the side of the animal. Firing an arrow using Charged Shot straight at its head does good damage, however you will need to be fast as the Bull will almost constantly charge you.

After you have dealt some damage the attack pattern will change briefly. The Bull will start to buck and dance around in a semi-circular pattern. It is best advised to remain completely out of its way while it is doing this as the movements are extremely unpredictable and will cause a lot of damage if you are caught up in it. Once this attack pattern is finished, the bull will resort back to its normal attack pattern of charging. Keep to its flank and you should have it finished in no time.

The Lykaon Wolf

Suggested Character level: 36

Reward: Master Artemis Treads (+15% Hunter damage, +10% bow damage when using Charged Shot)

Location: Lakonia, North West in the Dioskouri Peninsula

Assassin's Creed Odyssey: The Lykaon Wolf location

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey: The Lykaon Wolf location

The wolf is a huge black creature that has a couple of much smaller wolves surrounding it that you will need to deal with first.

Do not attack the wolf head on as it can deal a great deal of damage with its jaws, instead try to dodge around its attacks to keep to the side of it. Like most animals it is weak to fire.

Once you have damaged the wolf it will stop and howl, calling in more of its pack to help. Like your fight with the Kalydonian Boar you will need to take these out again before concentrating your attacks on the larger creature.

Depending on the damage that you are doing there may well be several waves of smaller wolves to deal with it. Despatch them and continue your attacks on the Lykaon Wolf until you defeat it. The second wind skill is essential for fighting this creature as you are likely to take significant damage each time the beast calls in the pack to assist it.

Kallisto the Bear

Suggested Character level: 37

Reward: Master Artemis Belt (+13% Hunter damage, +12% damage with bows on distant targets.

Location: Arkadia, South East of Golden Fields, just North of where the river gets wider

The bear is pretty straight-forward to fight. By now you should be pretty adept at dodging attacks, and you will need to do a fair amount during this fight.

The Bear is massive and has a powerful sweeping attack that has a surprising range. The best way to counter-act this is to dodge into the attack. If you time it right it should miss you completely and you will be able to get a fair few hits on the creature.

Around the middle of the fight the Bear starts to rear up and does a pounding attack followed by a side-swipe so keep well away during this attack pattern. Once it has stopped you can go back to the former strategy until you kill the beast. Return to Daphnae for your reward.

Erymanthian Boar

Suggested Character level: 38

Reward: Master Artemis Gloves (+15% Hunter damage, +25% adrenaline upon headshot kill)

Location: Elis in the Western part of Erymanthos Foothills.

The Boar is perhaps the most challenging of the legendary beasts to fight, not because it is more powerful than anything else, but because it farts and creates noxious clouds that will do poison damage to you over time.

The strategy is similar to all the others, try to remain to the flanks of the creature and avoid tackling it head on. When it charges you dodge and move away as soon as possible as it will stumble on to its side and you will hear it fart. The gas that it produces has a reasonable area of effect and lasts for quite a long time.

The boar is weak to fire, and there are a few pots littered around the fighting arena that can be broken and set alight to do further damage. Just be careful as the flames will also injure you.

The Krokottas Hyena

Suggested Character level: 39

Reward: Master Artemis Hood (+13% Hunter damage, +20% headshot damage)

Location: Kythera Island in the Southern part of Skandeia.

After fighting the Erymanthian Boar you should find the Hyena a little more straight-forward.

The most challenging part of this particular fight is actually being able to use your weapons against it as it is extremely fast and dodges away from your attacks a lot.

Its main attack pattern is to charge at you head on in a straight line, pause momentarily then charge at you from the other direction. The charge is fairly easy to dodge out the way of, however being able to get some hits on it while it is resetting to charge in the alternate direction isn’t easy. You may find that the Slow Time skill is particularly useful in this fight as it allows you to get a few free hits on the creature.

Depending on the strength of your attacks you may find this is a pretty lengthy fight, but keep focused and don’t get too greedy as being hit by the charge attack will take see you taking quite a bit of damage.

Once the beast is killed return to Daphnae and she will reward you with the final piece of the Mater Artemis set which will give a set bonus of 15% damage with all Hunter abilities.
