Earth Defense Force 2025 Launching February 2014

by on October 29, 2013

The next outing for EDF, the wonderful weapon packed bug and bot blasting game chiselled from pure fun, is set for release next February.

As revealed on PS Blog Earth Defense Force 2025 will hit current gen systems – both PS3 and Xbox 360 – next year, and publishers D3 Publisher have confirmed that all of the game’s Japanese content will be making it over in some way.

This includes pre-order bonuses, but apparently these will be available via standard DLC too.

Earth Defense Force 2025 will include more than 700 weapons (!), four player online co-op, more (hopefully good) vehicles, and even more obscurity than previous installments.

2025 is a true sequel to 2017 which was a budget release on Xbox 360 several years ago. Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon was released more recently, to muted fanfare, but that was a stopgap created by Matt Hazard developer Vicious Cycle Software.

Forget Call of Duty Ghosts’ Extinction mode, this is a true Sandlot EDF and I can’t blummin’ wait. Bring on the bugs.
