Today, Alien Pixel Studios unveil their upcoming puzzle-adventure, Unbound: Worlds Apart. With the announcement comes an atmospheric trailer that shows off its gorgeous and evocative world, along with its interesting puzzle mechanics.

In Unbound: Worlds Apart, you’ll play as Soli, travelling between various realities through magical portals in order to learn about the events that ravaged his home world. The laws of physics will be bend and broken, and your abilities will change, opening up plenty of different ways to progress. The hand-crafted world looks stunning, sharing similarities with games like Seasons After Fall and Limbo, with its dark farirytale aesthetic set to impress.

Whilst the game isn’t set to release until Spring 2020 on Steam, an early demo is expected to hit later this Spring. Alien Pixel Studios are also planning to launch a Kickstarter campaign on May 7, with the intent to help give it those all important finishing touches.

“Unbound is a game in which you not only explore a beautiful world and solve environmental puzzles, but also have a number of different mechanics and changeable behaviours that you’ll need to learn, adapt to, and use to progress through the story,” said Olga Ciob, Art Director on Unbound. “You’ll always have an alternative world available to you by opening a portal. But there’s an element of risk and reward, as you never know what will be lurking on the other side.”

If you’re keen to learn more, you can add Unbound: Worlds Apart to your Steam wishlist now, join the Discord server, and follow Alien Pixel Studios on Twitter. Watch the trailer below:
