Steve Ballmer gets his hand spanked for implying 360 Blu-ray add-on

thumb160x_hddvdplayerThe other day Steve Ballmer implied that after the HD-DVD demolishing in the format wars that it was inevitable that there would some kind of Blu-ray add-on for our awesome pearl white boxes. Well yesterday Microsoft trampled all over his hopes and dreams and maybe yours as well by coming out of their dark, dank offices where they are tenderly nurturing Natal and laughing manically to put a stop to said rumor. This is what they had to say:

“As we have said in the past, we have no plans to introduce a Blu-Ray drive for the Xbox 360,” Hryb reiterated. “In fact, the future of home entertainment starts very soon when Xbox 360 becomes the first and only console to offer instant-on 1080p streaming HD movies.”

So there you have it no Blu-ray for the Microsoft loyal fan base in the near future at least but then again do you really care? let us know.

I live, breathe, eat, sleep and drink GEEK! Been gaming since I was 4 years old and have made it my mission to own every gaming platform since I held my first NES controller. There isn't a genre I don't enjoy, if a game is even remotely good I'll be playing it. In my spare time (when I'm not gaming) I like to feed my anime, Japanese Culture and Gundam model kit addictions.

If we are going to get on there is two things you need to acknowledge - Hideo Kojima is a GOD and Zelda: Ocarina of Time is a master piece!

God truly is a GEEK!

You would be surprised but alot of people have replaced their old dvd collection with blu-rays. As long as people value physical media there will be a market for things like blu-ray.
