Toasty! Kombat Kollection Allows Classic Downloadable Evisceration on August 31st

by on August 23, 2011

In a bumper day for fans of fighting fare, also announced today is the impending 31st August release of Mortal Kombat Kollection – a three-game treat at a budget price point that will allow you to ritually kill opponents via Fatality over the original three titles that defined the long-running bloodthirsty franchise.

For just over six quid, Xbox LIVE Arcade, PlayStation Network and Windows PC gaming fans can get their hands on this excellent little package, which allows you to play the classic titles online, with leaderboards and whatnot, as well as being able to experience them in their original arcade format, just like in the olden days when Midway freaked out conservative parents with their frenzied brand of bloodletting. We leave you with the official press release which reached us just now.

FINISH HIIIIM!

Welcome back to where it all began!

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today announces the Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection will officially be available for download worldwide on August 31, 2011. Launching on PlayStation®Network, Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and Windows PC, this will mark the first time the original Mortal Kombat arcade trilogy – Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat 2 and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 – have been brought together in a single collection.  The Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection will be available for £6.29 on PlayStation Network and PC or for 800 Microsoft Points.

Developed by Other Ocean in conjunction with NetherRealm studios, the Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection will feature online play, leader boards, achievements and trophies, as well as offering fans the chance to play through the games in their original arcade state.
