Deadly Premonition Release Date Announced

by on September 16, 2010

Rising Star Games have today announced that Deadly Premonition (you know, that marmite game we mentioned last month) is going to be released in the UK on October 29th, only on the Xbox 360.

For those of you who don’t know, Deadly Premonition is a completely bizarre survival horror where you play as FBI Special Agent Francis York. You are tasked with solving the shocking, ritualistic and brutal murder of a local girl, unravelling the mystery via clues, lies and a trail of bodies. As you progress through the game, Agent York’s appearance changes in ‘real time’, meaning things like shaving, showering and eating are essential. These aspects are not just little cosmetic changes either, his level of hygiene has consequences in terms of how people react to him. To add to that, the game also has side quests and mini-games, which inculde darts, fishing and collecting trading cards. See? We weren’t lying when we said it was bizarre!

Here is what Martin Defries (Managing Director, Rising Star Games) had to say regarding Deadly Premonition:

“We’re delighted to be able to confirm the release date for Deadly Premonition. A cult classic in the making, the game continues to divide critics. But when it comes to the consumer, they seem to really ‘get’ the game, with the average user rating on Metacritic 8.5/10.”
