Hot on the heels of the Alien Breed 3: Descent being released on PlayStation Network, Mastertronic Group and Team 17 have today announced that the entire trilogy will soon be available to purchase at retail (yes, on a disc of all things!) for Xbox 360.

The collection will be available from the 18th of March.

The Alien Breed Trilogy is a collection of three explosive science fiction arcade-shooters that resurrects a much revered franchise with an epic narrative, swarms of intelligent alien enemies, high-impact weapons, highly detailed and rich environments; all implemented with superb technology in a state-of-the-art gaming experience, developed using Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 3.

With classic isometric arcade shooter gameplay, players can run and shoot in all directions, and collect a number of different weaponry, grenades, gun turrets and health packs to help them defeat vicious enemies and advance through the game, taking on thrilling alien bosses.

In addition to the thrilling single-player campaign and “survivor” modes, the game also offers relentless, action-packed, two-player online and offline co-operative battle modes.

Mastertronic’s Product Director Neil McKenna said: “With the Alien Breed games developed as AAA titles, and originally only being available to download, we’re very pleased to offer gamers a chance to play the complete boxed trilogy collection for the first time.”

Alien Breed Trilogy is the complete collection of redeveloped Alien Breed titles originally released on Xbox LIVE Arcade, PlayStation Network and for the PC. This is the first time that the complete series will be available off the shelf for the Xbox 360, featuring the full series of redeveloped episodes: Evolution, Assault and Descent. The original Alien Breed was released for the Commodore Amiga in 1991, with the first in the redeveloped series released in 2009.
