New Saints Row Title On The Block

THQ Claim Saints Row 3′s Graphics Match GTA IVGrand Theft Auto may have the edge in the open world market, but in the past there has been another contender that doesn’t take itself so seriously. The last game in the Saints Row series may have been almost three years ago, back in late 2008, but the tongue-in-cheek sandbox crime franchise is due to make a comeback this Autumn. Saints Row 3 has been announced by THQ, again being produced by previous developers, Volition.

Saints Row 2 gained a measure of notoriety upon its release for an advertising campaign that extolled its sense of humour and over-the-top action – whilst condemning the very serious tones that had been adopted by their biggest competitor at the time Grand Theft Auto IV. Saints Row 2 did offer a lot more of the manic gunfights and crazy sense of humour that you might have found in earlier GTA titles, but perhaps lacked the finesse and storytelling knack the Rockstar possesses. We will just have to wait until later in the year to find out how far they will have come since last time out, and what stance they take in this release.

Saints Row 3 is due to be released in late 2011 and will be available for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. Keep checking back here for more information as soon as it leaks out.
