EA Unveils New Burnout Crash! Racing Title

by on July 8, 2011

Electronic Arts and Criterion Games – the creators of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit – have come out and announced a new downloadable racing game for Xbox LIVE Arcade and the PlayStation Network, entitled Burnout Crash! The Crash mode that was always a popular staple of past Burnout games will be the focus for this arcade-style title, which is played via a top-down viewpoint and also features the Autolog online score tracking system that was first introduced in NFS: Hot Pursuit, which allows for head-to-head time and score competitions between friends.

In the new title, gamers will score points for crashing their car into other vehicles or other objects, triggering explosions and causing as much chaos as possible. The game will feature three different game modes, which will take place across 18 different crash junctions in six areas, and players will be able to unlock a whole host of new vehicles as they play through the stages. It will also feature a Kinect-specific mode in the XBLA version, where two teams will play at the same time on one console, using gesture control to go head-to-head in a party-style game. Richard Franke, Creative Director on the game thinks that; “Burnout Crash! is a crazy mix of pinball and game shows… We’ve evolved the core gameplay which everyone loved about Crash Mode, and expanded the whole experience using music, style and Autolog to create what we feel is the most mindless fun you can have on any gaming platform.”
