Captain Jack Sparrow and the Pirates of the Caribbean get ready to board Disney Universe

Arrr! For those of you who missed it, yesterday was the International “Talk Like a Pirate Day,” where Pirate fanatics the world over adopt a slightly less dignified method of speech. If you didn’t manage to get in on the fun, Disney Interactive Studios have at least got a nice surprise for you, as they show off some of the Pirates of the Caribbean themed content from their forthcoming game, Disney Universe. The title will make use of actual environments and character costumes inspired by the series of films, including those from the latest title, On Stranger Tides.

The title includes worlds inspired by many of Disney’s top films – both animated and live-action, as well as some of your favourite Pixar animations. In terms of Pirates of the Caribbean content, players will be able to take on the persona of some characters from the films such as Captain Jack Sparrow, Angelica, Mr. Gibbs, Captain Barbossa and Blackbeard. Levels will take place along the Thames River and through the city streets of London, across battling Pirate ships and into the dangerous waters of the Caribbean. But don’t despair, gamers will be armed with new weapons such as cannons, water bombs and rubber duck vehicles to get around in.

All of that sound a little confusing? Check out the new video and images below:
