Namco-Bandai-Announce-Guest-Characters-and-Collector's-Edition-for-Soul-Calibur-VNamco Bandai are on a roll at the moment. Having made fans everywhere very happy by announcing they are going to be bringing Ni No Kuni to Europe in the new year, they have changed tact a bit and now announced the guest characters for the hugely anticipated figher, Soul Calibur V, which we previewed back in August.

Set for a February 3rd (2012) release, Soul Calibur V will be allowing Ezio Auditore from Assassin’s Creed franchise make a guest appearance as a playable character. He will come complete with his assassination tools as well, including the Stiletto, Roman Longsword, Crossbow, hidden guns and of course, the trademark hidden blades.

Namco Bandai seem very happy about this news, with Senior Vice President saying “The entrance of Assassin’s Creed into the Soulcalibur universe is an historic meeting of two of the most revered and influential game series. Ezio has captured the imaginations of millions of fans around the world, and it will be very exciting to see how his lightning fast moves stand up to the mighty swordplay of Soulcalibur’s finest.”

Ubisoft seem just as excited: “We are thrilled to see Ezio enter the world of Soulcalibur, as we believe the values of both brands fit together” said Geoffroy Sardin, EMEA Chief Marketing and Sales Officer at Ubisoft. “We think that this partnership will bring a great new gameplay experience to both Soulcalibur and Assassin’s Creed fans”.

On top of all this, the collector’s edition for Soul Calibur V has also been announced. Coming in a “Book style” box, you’ll get all manner of lovely things if you choose to purchase this edition, including an art book, making of DVD, soundtrack CD and some DLC cards for the Black Knight and Paladin armour sets. On top of that, you’ll also get original artwork and a letter on parchment paper signed by the team at Project Soul.

We think this sounds like a rather nice special edition, but will you be indulging? Let us know in the comments below.
