Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Plans RevealedIt’s come an incredibly long way, and who can deny them a fantastic journey? The Street Fighter series will be celebrating its 25th Anniversary in 2012, and Capcom recently released exactly what it plans to do for its loyal fans.

Sticking mainly around the release of their upcoming game, Street Fighter X Tekken, Capcom aren’t just playing on the release of the game. Whilst 2012 will bring us this incredibly desired title, along with it come plenty of other goodies.

Capcom announced that purchasing the disc copy of your Street Fighter X Tekken won’t be the end of the game. They have promised a multitude of constant DLC support for all versions of the game which will continue well on after the games release.

The PS Vita version of the game will also be receiving a nice little bonus. With help from the community, Capcom announced that those purchasing the Vita version of the game will get access to 12 new characters which are Blanka, Cody, Dudley, Elena, Guy and Sakura from the Street Fighter Universe and Alisa Bosconovitch, Bryan Fury, Christie Monteiro, Jack, Lars Alexandersson and Lei Wulong from the Tekken Universe, all completely playable.

On top of all that, Capcom will be hosting worldwide tournaments for competitive players which feature cash and prizes totalling over $500,000. So if you think you’re ‘all that’ at Street Fighter, it’s time to put your money where your mouth is, and you could walk away with some serious dosh.

And if THAT wasn’t enough, Capcom will be working closely alongside iPlayWinner and TeamSp00ky to produce the worlds first, LIVE fighting-game based Internet reality show called “Cross Assault”. Cross Assault begins airing today, and features 10 players from the Street Fighter X Tekken game who compete in a series of matches for pride, honor and of course, money.

Whew! Capcom have always been known for loving their community, but this is something else! Be sure to get involved in all what Capcom are offering its fan base!
