On top of that, Ubisoft have also announced The Watch. This special program is only available via Uplay, GAME and Amazon in the UK, and GameStop in Ireland. Details on The Watch aren’t all that plentiful, but we can tell you that it is an access point for fans to get bonus content, special rewards and the opportunity to take part in a special quest that is specifically for those that sign up. Again, we don’t know what these rewards and bonuses are, yet.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag tells the story of pirate Edward Kenway who was once a member of the Royal Navy and now finds himself smack bang in the middle of the Templars V Assassins feud. Set in the Caribbean at 1715, Black Flag also includes some of the most well known pirates in history. You can have a look at our breakdown of everything you need to know about AC IV: Black Flag to catch up.

Finally, Ubisoft have shown off some gameplay footage from the game – narrated by (what sounds like) Finchy from The Office. It contains shark bites, burning boats, tropical settings and stormy seas. This looks like it could be the definitive pirate experience. Yarr.

Seeing the original trailer, I actually got quite excited. But seeing the gameplay, you kinda realise “it’s more Assassin’s Creed”. Which would be fine, but AC3 left me cold, to the point where I’ve a purchased copy of Liberation on Vita that I’ve not touched yet, since Christmas.
