Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Naval/Fort Gameplay Video Released

by on August 27, 2013

In the latest Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag video, game director Ashraf Ismail takes viewers through some naval/fort gameplay sections.

As Edward Kenway, players can assess potential dangers before reaching a fort at sea. By using the mortar, these obstructions can be disposed of and no longer be of any nuisance. The Jackdaw can also aim fire barrels at enemy brigs for an easier passage. To capture forts, players must find and assassinate fort commanders. The fort shown during the video is early on in the game, so is a bit easier than later ones, obviously.

Another point of interest is that Ismail shows that free-aiming, which has been revealed before, is a new feature for the series. Players can head shot enemy guards, if they so wish.

Seen as one of the better elements of Assassin’s Creed III, many are excited for the naval missions in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. AC III was by no means a poor entry for the series, but it did leave a lot of people unfulfilled. I’m personally hoping for a better Assassin’s Creed than Connor’s escapades, later this year.
