$1million Call Of Duty Tournament Announced

by on January 9, 2014

The second annual Call of Duty Championship will feature a massive $1million in prize money. The championship will run between the 28th and 30th March and is being held in L.A.

Organised along side Major League Gaming and Xbox the tournament will pit 32 of the best Call of Duty: Ghosts team against each other on the Xbox One, for those that don’t make the tournament finals the event will also be streamed over Xbox Live and on MLG.tv.

Although not the biggest prize fund ever seen in e-sports it is still a large payout that will hopefully lead to some entertaining Call of Duty action, something Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision Publishing is looking forward to.

“Last year’s championship came down to the final minute of the final match with everyone holding their breath to see who would win. The skill, passion and energy brought by these teams and the crowd looking-on showed just what makes our community the best in the world,”

“Call of Duty is more than a video game. It’s a pastime shared by millions. It’s exciting to play and fun to watch, and we can’t wait to see what this year’s event has in store.”
