Sierra is back with Geometry Wars and King’s Quest

After teasing an announcement for a while Activision have detailed the return of Sierra.

The Sierra team is back and has a brand new focus on indie games. The first two titles to come from Sierra are a brand new King’s Quest game being developed by The Odd Gentlemen and Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions from Lucid Games.

Bob Loya, Sr. Director of External Development had this to say regarding what Sierra is all about.

“Sierra’s goal is to find and work with talented indie developers working on their own amazing projects, or passionate about working on great Sierra IP, and leverage our expertise to aid them in bring these fun and exciting experiences to gamers with the level of visibility and awareness they deserve,”

“In addition to Lucid Games and The Odd Gentlemen, we’re in talks with a large number of other indie devs, and can’t wait to share more details with fans in the near future.”

Details on the new King’s Quest game are fairly limited but it we do know it will feature “an awe-inspiring art style, engaging puzzles, and a wondrous interactive narrative brimming with humor”. The game will launch sometime in 2015.

However we know quite a bit more about Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions that is expected to launch before the end of the year. The game will feature the traditional geometry wars gameplay but for the first time will be fully 3D and will feature co-op and competitive multiplayer. Also included will be 50 unique challenges and over 10 battle modes.
