Two new Ghostbusters games launching in July

Alongside the new Ghostbusters movie, Activision will be launching two new Ghostbusters video games this summer.

The console game, simply titled Ghostbusters, takes place after the events of the new movie and introduces a new cast of rookies. It will be a third-person action role-playing game and will allow up to four players to co-op locally. As rookie Ghostbusters, players can level up their characters’ gear and abilities by tackling objectives, defeating ghouls and discovering hidden collectibles throughout Manhattan. The game won’t feature any of the Ghostbusters from any movie in the series.

Activision will also release a mobile game, titled Ghostbusters: Slime City. A descriptor for the game reads “Team up with other players in asynchronous co-op, and collect powerful ghosts to rise to the top of the leaderboards. Players can also craft their own proton packs from any number of combinations of components, as well as upgrade their own headquarters and complete jobs around the city for new weapons and rewards.”

Ghostbusters: Slime City will be released on iOS and Android sometime in July. Ghostbusters will launch on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on July 15. See screenshots below in the gallery.
